@rayray5x It could be a Summer Tanager who was molting. What location are you at?
@woodcreeper I don't think it was ever confirmed - at least I didn't hear about it. A Prothonotary at this time of year would be strange!
@NaturFramingham Congrats on the lifer! They're fun birds to watch.
Apparently there is a Prothonotary Warbler in Suffolk County already!
@gbil4243 I heard about the Tufted and almost went to chase it. Didn't have the time though!
I haven't been seeing anything unusual or even that interesting around NYC yet. It seems to be just the usuals for this time of year...
Beautiful day in NYC to go birding!
@hsbauer I heard my first Red-winged BB today as well here in NYC. Signs of Spring even though we now have over a foot of snow...
I can't wait for Spring in the NYC area! I'm looking forward to seeing those beautiful warblers again.
@Billtacular Thanks for the post. I've been reading the discussions on JerseyBirds, etc. I'm glad Sibley shared his thoughts.
@shilfiell Cool! I've been waiting for one in the NJ/NYC area. No luck yet.
@birdiehaynes Yikes, those aren't great odds!
Rare sightings near LA area: http://bit.ly/7Tr3Cz
@lakras Great post and great year!
