@snowbunting what a great bird. Haven't seen one in years, but still have that sighting etched in my mind.
93 species for our big day. A little thin in rain, sleet and wind. Beautiful finish at an over look of the Mississippi at sunset.
Prothonotary Warbler at Trempealeau, WI Same place I first saw this species. Marshy or flooded woodlands.
A not too ambitious big day planned for tomorrow. I expect less then 100 species. We'll be looking for the Prothonatory warbler.
Family vacation to Hawaii. A white tern is the highlight of the life listers.
Common Loon seen early at the reservoir. Also a double crested cormorant. FOS warblers! Several yellow rumps.
Brown Creeper at 401-899 7th St NE, Rochester, MN First I've seen in several years. This one in Silver lake park. One more found in Issac Walton Wetlands.
A good day of birding at the reservoir with a canvas back, pintail, FOS greater yellowlegs and solitary sandpipers. 45 species in 4 hours.
Northern Pintail at Rochester, MN Solitary bird that kept its distance from larger rafts of shovelers and scaup.
@toadshade Don't know why but the black and white is my favorite warbler. Looking forward to the songbird migration here in Minnesota.
Ruddy Duck at Rochester, MN 5 Ruddy Ducks feeding at the Willow Creek Reservior
Water completely open here. Shovelers and Ruddies were present in numbers. Three bald eagles including the immature fishing the lake.
Immature Bald eagle fishing and feeding from the ice to the open water. Was being harassed by crows.
Bufflehead at Rochester, MN Water is about half open. Spotted a group of 8 or so.
